Young Brabham joins Team Safety

2010-07-27

Too young to drive on the road ... motorsport rising star Matthew Brabham.

He may be too young to hold a driver's licence, but Matthew Brabham – a keen motorsport competitor and grandson of triple world Formula One champion Sir Jack Brabham - has joined Boylan Traffic Solutions as the junior face of its Team Safety initiative.

The program - spearheaded by performance car driver Peter Boylan, motorsport commentator Neil Crompton and veteran touring car champion Allan Moffat,OBE - aims to help reduce road trauma by increasing awareness about the safety message in the wider community.

Peter Boylan said 16-year-old Matthew, a Rising Star challenger in the Formula Ford championship, was an ideal ambassador for the Team Safety message.

“We feel sure that someone of Matthew’s talent and vision will appeal to the younger members of our community who we are very keen to reach with our safety message,” Peter said.

He said future Team Safety initiatives would include working with state governments to institute road safety programs into the school syllabus.
